Sedge & Bee soap is a plant-based cleanser that uses olive, coconut, sunflower and palm oils instead of tallow or lard. All of our oils are natural, organic, gentle and mild. Soaps that solely use vegetable fats are also referred to as ‘castile’ soaps. Castile soaps have an extensive history dating back about 2,000 years. They were the first soaps created without the use of tallow or lard, and have since proven superior in cleansing for skin, homes and clothing. The original castile soaps were created using primarily laurel oils. Later, soap makers substituted olive oil, which was more abundant. Today, castile soaps can incorporate any variety of nutrient-rich vegetable oils, from avocado to coconut.

Olive oil is one of the most nourishing oils in the world, whether consumed or applied topically. This oil is high in omega-3 acids that contribute to anti-aging and provides balancing hydration.
Coconut oils help soaps produce a rich lather. This oil also provides a variety of fatty acids, nutrients and antioxidants thought to keep skin healthy, youthful and moisturized.
Sunflower oil contains a high concentration of natural compounds thought to strengthen and protect the skin. It also serves as an effective emollient and has antioxidant properties.
Palm oils are rich in Vitamin E, helping to nourish skin and scalp and aid in anti-aging. It’s an emollient, which helps to restore natural moisture and provide a variety of nutrients and antioxidants.
In addition to providing proper skin nourishment with the help of palm, sunflower, olive and coconut oils, this soap is paraben-free and triclosan-free.
